CAMPUS LIVING AND REFERRAL SOURCE
Central Texas Children's Home (CTCH) meets the needs of disadvantage children's physical, emotional, educational and spiritual needs in a warm family-like atmosphere where house parents function as mother and father figures in a cottage style home. Residents range in age from 5 to 17 and live with six to eight children. There are two cottages on our campus. Watson Cottage - girls and Sloan Cottage - boys.
Referral Source:
Our referral source for placement comes from many different avenues. Mothers, fathers, grandparents, guardians and the Department of Family and Protective Services to name a few. Families are often in conflict and face a range of obstacles ranging from homelessness, poverty, violence, illness, alcohol and drug abuse, incarceration or DFPS involvement.
TRAUMA INFORMED CARE
CTCH utilizes Trauma Informed Care, which enables and empowers children and families with an understanding of the impact trauma has had on their lives. The trauma care process identifies any unsuccessful behavioral triggers and scripts that traumatized individuals encounter, and equips them with the tools to conquer these triggers, re-write their scripts, and ultimately claim victory over their trauma.
SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT
We have a commitment to the spiritual development of our children. We provide children with personal Bibles, weekly Bible devotionals, and opportunities to attend church regularly.
