Director of Foster Care

 

The Central Texas Children's Home in Buda, TX (Austin) is starting a new Christian foster care program, and we are looking at finding a qualified Director of Foster Care! This job is best suited for a Christian individual that is genuinely interested in doing direct ministry work and making a difference in the life of young people who have been abused, neglected, and abandoned and are unable to live at home or with their families.   

 Job Description:

Professional supervision over Foster Care Department Staff. Including planning for staff’s professional development and taking any other appropriate action regarding their child placing decisions. Provide case management services for children and foster parents.

Review and approve:

  • All child-placing decisions, including: the facility, adoptive home, or foster home for a child’s placement.
  • Admission of a child into the child-placing program.
  • The verification of foster and adoptive homes, including documented foster home screening, home study, and other requirements.
  • Admissions assessments or any other evaluation of a child for placement.
  • Service plans and reviews.
  • Studies on foster families and adoptive homes. 

Requirements: 

  • Master's Degree in social services or Bachelor's Degree with 4 years of Case Management experience.
  • Desire to help children and families

Watson Cottage House Parents

 

We are looking at finding a set of missionaries! We are looking for a Christian couple to live on the campus located in Buda, TX, just south of Austin, and care for children ages 5-18. This job is best suited for those couples who are interested in doing direct ministry work and making a difference in the life of young people who have been abused, neglected, and abandoned and are unable to live at home or with their families.   

 Job Description:

House parents are employed as a couple and are directly responsible for the supervision of the children in their cottage.  All supervision of children must be conducted within policy as mandated by the Home and DFPS/HHSC Minimum Standards.

House parents are responsible for the mental, physical, and spiritual well-being of the children entrusted to them.  They should strive for the best possible training of the children in matters such as cleanliness, manners, academics, discipline, sportsmanship, and religion.

House parents deal with children’s current issues on a daily basis.  The focus of the house parent’s attention is on the child’s physical/emotional safety and interpersonal relationships.  House parents are responsible for the orderly operation of the cottage.  The husband and wife must contribute their rightful share to fulfilling the duties.

Weekend Night Awake Staff

 

Job description

Will provide overnight watch services for a children's home cottage. Pre-service and annual training are provided. Typically, the children are asleep during these hours. This is for a weekend position, working Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. Must be 21 years old or older and have a valid Texas driver’s license (documentation must be provided at time of employment).
  • Experience preferred, but not required

Requirements

  • Pass a background check and a drug screen.

 

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
